One easy turkey gravy recipe uses ingredients such as milk, garlic powder and cream of chicken soup, and it takes 17 minutes to make. An easy recipe from Simple & Delicious magazine uses spices such as thyme and sage, and it takes 20 minutes.
To make the first recipe, bring 5 cups of turkey stock to a boil in a large saucepan. Stir in 1 can of condensed cream of chicken soup, and season the mixture with 1 teaspoon of poultry seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of seasoned salt and 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder. Turn down the heat to low, and let it simmer. Warm 1 cup of milk in a microwavable bowl, and whisk in 1/3 cup of flour until no lumps remain. Bring the gravy back to a boil, gradually stir in the milk mixture, and continue to cook for one minute while stirring constantly.
To make the Simple & Delicious recipe, pour turkey drippings from a roasting pan into a 4-cup measuring cup, skim the fat, and reserve 2 tablespoons. Add enough broth to the drippings to make 3 cups. In a large saucepan, whisk together 1/2 cup of flour, 3/4 cup of chicken broth and the reserved fat until smooth. Add 1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme, 1/2 teaspoon of rubbed sage and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper. Gradually add in the drippings mixture, bring it to a boil, and cook for two to three minutes while stirring constantly.
