An easy recipe for spinach quiche uses a pre-made pie crust to simplify the process, frozen spinach, cheese and onion. Some seasonings to taste, such as salt, pepper and fresh garlic, create a deeper, more complex flavor.
Melt some butter or heat a little olive oil in a skillet, then cook a diced onion until translucent along with some fresh minced garlic if desired. Meanwhile, defrost up to 10 ounces of frozen spinach and chop it into small pieces. In the pie crust, add the spinach and onion, along with any cheese. A few ounces of cubed cream cheese and some shredded cheese, or 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheese are both possible options. Gruyere and cheddar are possible shredded cheese choices.
Beat three eggs together with other seasonings and up to 1 1/2 cups of milk, then pour into the crust over the other ingredients. Bake the dish for up to 50 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or until the mixture is set throughout. This recipe can yield up to eight servings depending on serving size and has roughly 15 minutes of active cooking time. Crumbled cooked bacon can be added to the mixture for additional flavor and protein.
