An easy recipe for rum cake uses a box yellow cake mix, vanilla instant pudding and McCormick rum flavoring for the glaze. The recipe can be prepped in just 15 minutes and does not require any advanced cooking skills to complete.

- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 package (2-layer) yellow cake mix
- 1 package (4-serving) vanilla instant pudding mix
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 2 tbsp. McCormick rum flavor

- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 tbsp. water
- 1/2 tsp. McCormick rum flavor
- Preheat oven
- Prepare bundt pan
- Mix cake
- Make glaze
- Glaze the cake
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
Grease and flour the bottom of the 12-cup bundt pan. Layer the pecans evenly, covering the bottom of the pan.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, water, pudding mix, butter and 2 tbsp. rum flavoring. Beat with an electric mixer on low to combine for 30 seconds and then on medium for 4 minutes. Pour the cake mixture into the bundt pan.
Bake for 1 hour. When the cake is done, it should pull away from the sides of the pan easily. Allow to cool for 15 minutes.
While the cake is baking, mix the sugar, water and butter in a small saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat and allow to boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add 1/2 tsp. rum flavoring.
Turn the bundt cake pan upside down and release the cake carefully onto a serving platter. Pierce the cake in several places with a fork and then pour the glaze mixture over top.
