This simple recipe for traditional candy is shared by Martha Stewart. It originates in fashion designer Tom Ford's family cooking traditions.

Put parchment paper on two baking sheets and put them aside.
Combine baking soda and sugar before putting the heat on. Place the cream in the saucepan over the sugar and soda. Whisk from time to time over medium heat until the temperature rises to 235 F and the mixture is golden in color. This will take from 25 to 30 minutes.
Transfer pecans and the butter to the mixture, combine everything together for 1 minute. Use a tablespoon to create individual candy on the baking sheets, about 2 inches apart from one another. Eat when cool.
