To make Marsala sauce according to the instructions by MyRecipes, fry 8 ounces of sliced baby portobello mushrooms with 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet for approximately 10 minutes or until the skillet is dry. Stir in another tablespoon of butter along with 3 minced cloves of garlic and 2 diced shallots. Fry the mixture for five minutes before deglazing the skillet with 2 cups of Marsala wine and 1 cup of chicken broth. Boil the mixture for approximately 20 minutes or until only about one-third of the liquid remains. Turn off the heat, and incorporate yet another tablespoon of butter to complete the sauce.
