An easy baked bean recipe is to mix together one 28-ounce can baked beans, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup chopped onion, 1/4 cup ketchup, 1/2 teaspoon mustard and 1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke, then microwave for 10 minutes. Cover with waxed paper while microwaving, and stir halfway through.
The easy baked beans can also be baked in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 40 minutes to one hour, stirring halfway through. Add a 1/2 cup of Worcestershire sauce to the baked bean mixture, if desired. For a similar recipe that takes longer to bake, mix together two 16-ounce cans of pork and beans, 1/4 cup molasses, 1/4 cup chopped onion, 4 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 tablespoon mustard and 2 tablespoons ketchup. Top with two slices of chopped, cooked bacon, and bake covered at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for three hours.
Another baked bean recipe with less ingredients calls for frying 1 pound of bacon in a large skillet until crisp, then removing and crumbling the cooled bacon. Add one large chopped onion to the skillet with the bacon drippings and saute for a few minutes until soft. Add in four 14-ounce cans of pork and beans, 1/2 cup dark molasses, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 2 tablespoons mustard and the crumbled bacon. Place the beans in a casserole dish, and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes.
