The Super Easy Apples Squares by Julia's Album is a simple apple squares recipe. The recipe takes approximately an hour to prepare and cook, and it uses three medium apples.
To prepare the apple squares, grease a 9x9-inch square baking dish, and preheat the oven to 350 F. Peel and core three medium apples, chopping them into chunks before tossing them in a medium-sized bowl with 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 4 tablespoons brown sugar. In a separate bowl, combine 1 1/4 cups sifted flour with 1/8 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon baking powder. In another bowl, mix 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/3 cup Greek yogurt, 1 cup white sugar and 1/3 cup vegetable oil with a wire whisk. Beat in two eggs until well mixed.
Combine the flour mixture with the egg mixture, stirring just until combined. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, and sprinkle half of the apple chunks evenly over the dish before pouring in the remaining batter. Top the batter with the rest of the apples. Place the dish in the oven and bake for about 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cut into squares, dust with powdered sugar and serve.
