The Food Network has an easy pork steak recipe for the grill that requires a simple marinade and bone-in pork chops. Another recipe uses a garlic powder, onion powder, seasoning salt and black pepper rub on the meat before grilling it.
Prepare a marinade; whisk together 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and 1/4 cup of honey. Season with 1 teaspoon of ground cumin and 1/2 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes. Rub salt and pepper onto both sides of eight 3-ounce bone-in pork chops, place the meat in a resealable bag, and add the marinade. Allow the meat to marinate for at least one hour before grilling over medium heat for four minutes on each side.
Instead of marinating the meat, rub the pork steaks with 1/2 teaspoon of seasoning salt, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper. Grill the meat for two minutes on each side, then place the meat on a covered plate for 10 more minutes before you serve the food.
Another rub calls for 1/4 cup of paprika, 3 tablespoons of chili powder, 2 1/2 tablespoons of dry mustard and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Add 2 tablespoons of ground cumin, 2 tablespoons of granulated garlic, 2 tablespoons of kosher salt, 1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper and 1 tablespoon of black pepper to the mix. Coat the pork in the rub, and refrigerate it overnight before grilling.
