Creating a delicious pinwheel is just a few knife slices beyond the traditional wrap or roll-up. Layer fillings onto sandwich bread, tortillas, flat bread, wraps, cucumber or ham slices, roll tightly jellyroll style, refrigerate 30 minutes, and slice crosswise.
Spread flat bread or flour tortillas with cream cheese, ham or salami slices, chopped black olives and baby spinach. Roll and slice 1-inch thick for a healthy lunch at school or the office. Create kid sushi by flattening and fusing two thin slices of bread, crusts removed. Spread with ranch dressing, and add sliced Swiss cheese, shredded carrots and gherkin pickles laid end to end at the bread edge to be rolled first. Slice into 1-inch pieces.
Fuse refrigerated tube-style crescent dinner rolls into four rectangles, and spread with cream cheese mixed with horseradish, mustard and parsley flakes to taste. Add sliced boiled ham, roll tightly and refrigerate. Slice each roll into 1/2-inch slices, place cut side down on a greased baking sheet, bake 10 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit, and serve warm as an appetizer.
Spread thin pancakes with margarine, and wrap around chopped ham and scrambled egg before slicing. Make a thin omelette with two slightly beaten eggs and a teaspoon of water. When the eggs are set, add sliced prosciutto ham, roll loosely, and cut in half to serve.
