An easy way to freeze cheese is to slice, grate or cut the cheese into blocks and wrap each piece into heavy duty aluminum foil or plastic. Each wrapped package of cheese should be covered with wax paper and tape before freezing.
Grated cheese can be placed in the freezer in air-tight containers. Wrapping for cheese placed in the freezer should be air tight, such as a plastic bag with a seal that is firmly clasped. Cheese that is in a pre-packaged wrapping and box can be placed directly into the freezer as long as the box and wrapping are unopened.
