To make the FoodNetwork.com recipe, preheat the oven to 325 F. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil, and saute 3 cups chopped yellow onions, 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme, 2 teaspoons salt and 1 teaspoon black pepper. Take the pan off the heat, and add 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, 1/3 cup chicken stock and 1 tablespoon tomato paste. In a bowl, combine 2 1/2 pounds ground chuck, the onion mixture, 1/2 cup plain bread crumbs and 2 large eggs. Shape the mixture into a loaf, and spread 1/2 cup ketchup on top. Bake for 1 to 1 1/4 hours.
To bake the BettyCrocker.com recipe, preheat the oven to 350 F. In a bowl, combine 2 beaten eggs, 1/2 cup ketchup, 1/2 cup milk, 1 cup Italian style bread crumbs, 1/4 cup finely chopped onion and 1 pound lean ground beef. Press the mixture into a loaf pan, and bake it for 40 minutes. Remove the meatloaf from the oven, and spread 1/4 cup ketchup evenly over the top. Bake the meatloaf for another 15 to 20 minutes.
