An easy mai tai recipe is Clinton Kelly's Quick and Easy Mai Tai that combines rum, juice and triple sec. Gina's Mai Tai is another easy recipe that uses lime juice and grenadine with maraschino cherries.
Make Clinton Kelly's mai tai recipe by filling a cocktail shaker with ice and pouring in 1 ounce of dark rum, 1 ounce of light rum and 1 1/2 ounces of triple sec. Add 1/2 ounce of orange juice, 1 ounce of pineapple juice and 1/4 ounce of cranberry juice. Shake up the drink and pour it into a glass. Add a sprinkling of triple sec and a cherry for garnish.
In another easy recipe, pour 2 ounces of light rum, 1 ounce of dark rum, 1 ounce of triple sec, 1/2 cup of fresh pineapple juice and 1/4 cup of orange juice into a cocktail shaker with ice. Squeeze in the juice from 1 lime and add a dash of grenadine and pomegranate syrup. Shake up the liquid and strain it into two cups.
For another recipe, shake up 1 ounce of silver or gold rum, 3/4 ounce of fresh lime juice, 1/2 ounce of aged rum and 1/2 ounce of triple sec with 1/2 ounce of almond syrup and 1/4 ounce of simple syrup. Strain the drink into glasses with crushed ice, and add dark Jamaican rum and a sprig of mint.
