Some easy lunch recipes for children under 10 include macaroni and cheese, peanut butter apple wraps, and club sandwiches. Children under 10 can be picky eaters but these recipes can be adjusted for taste and are simple to make.
To make the macaroni and cheese, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and heat salted water in a pot until boiling. Meanwhile, melt 1/2 cup of butter in a saucepan, add 1/2 cup of flour, and cook the sauce for 10 minutes. Add 3 cups of cold milk, bring to a boil, and simmer for 15 minutes. In the meantime, simmer 1 pound of macaroni in the boiling salted water until al dente. While the macaroni simmers, stir 2 cups of grated cheese into the sauce. Mix the sauce and the cooked pasta together and bake in an ovenproof dish for 30 minutes. Serve hot.
To make a peanut butter apple wrap, spread one tortilla with 2 tablespoons of peanut butter, leaving a 1/2-inch edge. Sprinkle 1 1/2 tablespoons of granola cereal over the lower two-thirds of the peanut butter. Chop one-quarter apple into small pieces and sprinkle evenly over the tortilla. Roll the tortilla starting from the apple end.
To make a club sandwich, toast two slices of bread. Blend 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise with 2 tablespoons of bacon in a bowl and spread on the bread slices. Add three slices of turkey, three slices of ham, one slice of cheese, tomato slices and greens.
