Simple guacamole can easily be made at home using avocado, cilantro, lime juice, red onion, jalapeño and salt. Some people add garlic and tomato to guacamole, depending on personal taste.
In 2015, Chipotle Mexican Grill released its guacamole recipe. The signature guacamole is made with 2 ripe Hass avocados, 2 teaspoons lime juice, 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro, 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion, 1/2 finely chopped jalapeño pepper and 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt.
To make this recipe, cut the avocados in half and remove the pits. Scoop out the avocado and place in a medium bowl. Toss the avocados with lime juice to coat and add salt. Next, use a fork or potato masher to mash until the avocados have reached a smooth consistency. Fold in the cilantro, red onion and jalapeño and mix well. Taste the guacamole and adjust seasoning as desired.
Another easy guacamole recipe comes from Food Network personality Ina Garten. This 15-minute guacamole requires 4 ripe Hass avocados, 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, 8 dashes hot pepper sauce,
1/2 cup finely diced red onion, 1 large minced garlic clove, 1 teaspoon kosher salt, 1 teaspoon ground black pepper and 1 medium tomato, seeded and diced.
To make this recipe, cut the avocados in half, remove the pits and place in a large bowl. Immediately add all ingredients except tomato to the bowl and toss. Use a sharp knife to cut the avocados until they are finely diced. Add the tomatoes and season with more salt and pepper to taste.
