The fruit punch recipe by Paula Dean on Food Network is an easy fruit punch recipe. The punch combines orange juice, lemonade, pineapple juice, strawberries and lemon-lime soda as well a homemade sugar syrup.
To prepare fruit punch, combine two 6-ounce cans of thawed orange juice from concentrate, two 6-ounce cans of thawed lemonade from concentrate and one 48-ounce can of pineapple juice in a large punch bowl. Stir until thoroughly mixed, and set aside. Combine 3 cups of sugar and 3 cups of water in a heavy saucepan, bringing the mixture to a slow boil and mixing for approximately five minutes or until the sugar dissolves. Let the prepared syrup cool completely before pouring it into the juice mixture.
Pour 2 pints of washed and hulled strawberries into a ring mold, and add just enough of the juice to fill the mold before placing it in the freezer. Keep the punch in the refrigerator until serving time. Just before serving, pour a 1-liter bottle of lemon-lime soda into the juice mixture, and transfer the frozen fruit ring from the mold to the punch bowl. Place a ladle into the bowl to let guests serve themselves. The ice ring floats in the punch, adding aesthetic appeal while keeping the punch cold.
