Some easy fondue recipes are Basic Cheese Fondue and Easy Cheese Fondue. Another simple recipe is Quick Crockpot Fondue, which calls for dry white wine, Swiss cheese, garlic, cayenne and nutmeg.
To make the Crockpot recipe, simmer 3 cups of dry white wine, 3 cloves of peeled and crushed garlic, 1/8 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg and 1 teaspoon of ground white pepper over medium heat for five minutes, and then reduce the temperature to low for 10 minutes. Mix 1 1/2 pounds of shredded Swiss cheese with the wine mixture in a Crockpot on the warm setting. After a few minutes, increase the heat to high for 10 minutes, stirring often. Once the fondue mixture is smooth, serve it with sausage, sourdough pieces or pretzels.
Make Easy Cheese Fondue by whisking together 2 tablespoons of cider vinegar, 1 teaspoon of cornflour or cornstarch, 9 ounces of grated cheddar cheese and 9 ounces of grated Gruyere cheese in a metal bowl and setting the bowl over a pot of boiling water. Stir the cheese, and mix in 3 tablespoons of creme fraiche once the cheese is almost completely melted. Keep the fondue warm at low heat, and serve it with carrot, pepper or celery sticks; mini salami or sourdough croutons.
