An easy flour biscuit recipe simply requires flour, baking powder, fat and some liquid. It is easy to make and the tasty biscuits can be eaten on their own, with honey or molasses or as an accompaniment to a main course.
Sift in a bowl 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of baking powder, 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1 teaspoon of salt. Pour into a mixing bowl of a food processor, add 5 tablespoons of unsalted butter, cut into pats and pulse the mixture five or six times. Return the mixture to a bowl and add 1 cup of whole milk and use a fork to stir until the dough begins to form into a ball.
After this, the dough needs to be turned on a surface sprinkled with flour. The process involves folding it over and patting it lightly a few times then covering the dough with a kitchen towel and allowing it to rest for 30 minutes. Next, preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, roll out the dough into a rectangle around 10 by 6 inches and cut the dough into biscuits. Try to avoid crimping the edges of the biscuits while cutting them as this prevents rising. Bake the biscuits until they turn golden brown, between 10 and 15 minutes.
