Easy, kid-friendly dessert recipes include Nutella-banana pizza, chocolate fondue, and PB&J sandwich cookies. These and more children's dessert recipes are available on FoodNetwork.com, MyRecipes.com and BettyCrocker.com.
To make Food Network's recipe for chocolate fondue, microwave 6 ounces of chopped bittersweet chocolate with 1/4 cup heavy cream for about 2 minutes or until the chocolate is fully melted. Whisk the chocolate mixture until smooth. Serve with cubed, store-bought angel-food cake and sliced fruit such as strawberries and bananas. Allow children to skewer pieces of fruit or cake and dip them in the chocolate.
For Nutella-banana pizza, preheat a charcoal or gas grill to medium-high heat. Coat a 14-inch pizza peel with cornmeal or flour. On a floured work surface, divide 1 10-ounce ball of premade pizza dough into 4 pieces. Roll each ball to the desired thickness and transfer to the peel. Slide the dough onto the hottest part of the grill, and put down the grill cover. Cook the dough until the bottom is browned, about 2 minutes. Lower the temperature and spread Nutella on each pizza, leaving a border for the crust. Leave over heat until the Nutella is melted and glossy. Remove from the heat, and top with banana slices, toasted hazelnuts and mint leaves if desired. The dough may also be baked in an oven if a grill is not available.
