An easy dessert to make with phyllo dough is the Cinnamon Apple Strudel recipe available on FoodNetwork.com. Ingredients include phyllo dough, brown sugar, butter, apples and raisins, as well as sugar and cinnamon. It makes four servings.
To make Food Network's Cinnamon Apple Strudel recipe, you need 6 layers of phyllo dough, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1 stick of butter, 1 1/2 teaspoons of cinnamon and 3 peeled and diced Granny Smith apples. You also need 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1/2 cup of raisins.
First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Stack the layers of phyllo dough on top of each other, brushing each layer with butter before adding the next. Combine the apples, raisins, sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Spoon the filling down the left long side of the phyllo rectangle and fold the top edge down and the bottom edge up approximately 2 inches to cover the filling. Next, close the filling inside by rolling the dough up along the long side. After this, brush the pastry with butter and dust it with the cinnamon and sugar mixture. Finally, put the pastry into the oven and bake for 30 minutes or until it's golden brown and puffed up.
