AllRecipes.com and MyRecipes.com both offer popular pork chop suey recipes that are easy to prepare; both recipes involve stir-frying chopped pork loin with onion, celery and other vegetables. The AllRecipes.com recipe is simply called Chop Suey; the MyRecipes.com recipe is called Pork Chop Suey.
To make the Chop Suey recipe from AllRecipes.com, heat 1/4 cup of shortening in a large skillet. Add 1 1/2 cups of diced pork loin and sear until white. Next, dice 1 cup of onion, add it to the skillet and saute for five minutes until slightly softened. While the onion is cooking, dice 1 cup of celery and add it to the mixture, along with 1 cup of hot water, 1 teaspoon of salt and 1/8 teaspoon of black pepper. Cover and simmer for five minutes.
Drain and rinse a 14.5-ounce can of bean sprouts. Add the sprouts to the skillet and heat everything until it boils. While the mixture is heating, combine 1/3 cup of cold water, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, 2 teaspoons of soy sauce and 1 teaspoon of white sugar in a small bowl. Mix together thoroughly and add everything to the skillet once the bean sprout mixture is boiling. Continue cooking for five minutes or until sufficiently thickened.
