An easy chocolate molten lava cake recipe is Kraft's Molten Chocolate Cakes that calls for only six ingredients and uses the microwave to melt the chocolate and butter. The recipe takes about 15 minutes to prepare and makes four mini molten lava cakes.
To make Kraft's Molten Chocolate Cakes, put a 4-ounce package of semi-sweet chocolate and 1/2 cup butter in the microwave until the butter is melted. Stir the chocolate and butter mixture until the chocolate is completely melted. Add in 1 cup powdered sugar, and then stir in 2 eggs and 2 egg yolks until well combined. Mix in 6 tablespoons of flour, and then divide the batter evenly among four buttered custard cups. Place the custard cups on a baking sheet, and bake the cakes for 13 to 14 minutes at 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
Allow the cakes to cool for one minute before using a knife to loosen the cakes from the custard cups. Turn the custard cups over serving plates, and serve the lava cakes with whipped cream or ice cream on top. To make the lava cakes ahead, prepare the batter, and divide it into the custard cups. Put the custard cups in the refrigerator for no longer than 24 hours. Let the cake batter sit at room temperature for an hour before baking the cakes.
