Meatballs are easily made by combining ingredients such as dry bread crumbs, milk, grated Parmesan cheese and seasonings, along with ground beef, forming the mixture into balls and then baking them in an oven. Meatballs can also be partially cooked in an oven and finished in a tomato sauce.
Start by gathering 1/3 cup dry Italian-style bread crumbs, 1/4 cup milk, 1 pound lean ground beef, 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1/4 cup salt and 1/8 teaspoon black pepper. Soak the bread crumbs in the milk for about 15 minutes in a medium-sized bowl. Add the ground beef, half of the Parmesan cheese, and the salt and pepper to the bowl with the bread crumbs and milk, stirring well to combine.
Preheat an oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with greased foil or parchment paper. Form the meat mixture into balls 1 inch in size, and place in a single layer on the baking sheet. Place the sheet in the oven, and bake for 20 minutes or until the meatballs are fully cooked through.
To serve, add meatballs to a pan of warm tomato sauce, or place on a dish and pour warm tomato sauce over. Top with the remaining Parmesan cheese to finish.
