An easy baked cheesecake recipe includes cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, flour and lemon juice. The crust typically is made from scratch using graham cracker crumbs, butter and sugar. However, a store bought crust can be substituted if necessary.
To make an easy New York-style cheesecake, preheat the oven to 400 degrees and soften 32 ounces of cream cheese. In a medium bowl, mix 1 and 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs, 1/3 cup melted butter and 1/4 cup sugar to create a firmly pressed crust in a 9-inch springform pan.
Using a large mixing bowl, beat the 32 ounces of softened cream cheese until it is fluffy. Slowly mix in 14 ounces of sweetened condensed milk to create a smooth mixture. Mix in 4 eggs, 2 tablespoons of flour and 1/4 cup of lemon juice. Spread the mixture on top of the crust. Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes until the center is firm. Cool the cheesecake before chilling. Store covered in the refrigerator.
New York cheesecake is known for being without fancy ingredients on top or inside of the cheesecake. The cheesecake can be topped with 21 ounces of cherry pie filling if desired. This recipe creates 10 servings.
