Angel hair pasta with olive oil, garlic and chili flakes is simple to make, as is angel hair pasta with garlic, herbs and Parmesan. Both recipes have pasta, olive oil and Parmesan in common, but the other ingredients are what gives each dish a unique flavor.
To make basic angel hair pasta with olive oil, garlic and chili flakes, cook 1 pound of angel hair pasta according to the package directions. Meanwhile, add 4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and 5 cloves of sliced garlic to a skillet that's been preheated over low heat, and cook for three minutes. Add 1 tablespoon of red chili flakes to the pan and 1 cup of the pasta water from the pot. Bring everything to a simmer over medium heat. As soon as the pasta is cooked, drain it, and add to the skillet, tossing to coat the pasta. Remove the pan from the heat, and toss the pasta again with 1 cup of chopped fresh parsley, 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan and 1 tablespoon of butter before serving.
Angel hair pasta with garlic, herbs and Parmesan is even easier to make. Cook 8 ounces of angel hair pasta according to the package directions. While it's cooking, heat 1/4 cup of olive oil in a small saucepan. Slice 3 cloves of garlic thinly, chop enough fresh oregano, rosemary and thyme to make 2 tablespoons, and chop enough fresh parsley to make 1/4 cup. Add the herbs and the garlic to the saucepan along with 1/8 teaspoon of chili flakes, and then cook for approximately one minute. Place the cooked, drained pasta in a bowl, and pour the herb sauce over it. Add 1 teaspoon of black pepper and 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, and toss to coat the pasta.
