For an easy tea biscuit recipe, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 4 teaspoons of baking powder and 1 teaspoon of salt. Cut 1/2 cup of shortening mixture until it is a fine crumb. Stir in 3/4 cup of milk with a fork to make a soft dough.
Knead the dough eight to 10 times. Roll it out to at least 1/2 inch in thickness, and cut it into rounds with a cookie or biscuit cutter. Place the rounds on a greased cookie sheet, and allow them to rest for a few minutes before placing them in an oven preheated to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. The biscuits take between 12 and 15 minutes and are best served warm and topped with butter, honey or jam. This recipe makes about 20 biscuits.
