Bottled Dr. Pepper sold in a six-pack old-fashioned style is available for purchase from Dr. Pepper Museum's gift shop. The museum, located in Waco, Texas, is also the home of Dr. Pepper's first bottling plant.
The Dr. Pepper Museum opened in 1991, and it also features the original drug store, Morrison's Old Corner Drug Store, where Dr. Pepper was first sold only as a tonic. The now world-famous soda, which was formulated by Brooklyn-born pharmacist Charles Alderton, was simply called "Waco" due to the fact that it was only available for purchase in the city of Waco, Texas. The Dr. Pepper museum also features an old-fashioned soda fountain, as well as various Dr. Pepper related memorabilia.
