Some dishes that are easy to share at a potluck are baked macaroni and cheese, sausage balls and green bean casserole. These dishes scale easily to larger sizes and let people choose their serving size.
For baked macaroni and cheese, use 12 ounces of dry macaroni, cook it until half done, drain it, and put in a casserole dish. Whisk together 1 egg, 2 cups of milk and shredded cheese until smooth, and then pour the mixture over the pasta. Bake for 30 minutes. If desired, add in crumbled cooked bacon, or sprinkle breadcrumbs over the top of the dish.
Sausage balls use ground sausage, shredded cheddar cheese and bread crumbs. Mix the ingredients together, and form them into small balls. Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for up to 20 minutes. The balls should be golden brown after cooking. Serve plain or with a dip such as salad dressing or gravy.
To make green bean casserole, use 4 cups of cut green beans that have been precooked. Put these in a casserole dish along with 1 can of condensed cream of mushroom soup. Stir in Worcestershire or soy sauce and pepper to taste. Stir in 2/3 of a cup of French fried onions. Top the mixture with 1/2 a cup of onions, and bake it for 30 minutes at 350 F.
