The first Moe's Southwest Grill opened in December 2000 in Atlanta, Georgia. As of May 2015, the chain has grown to over 500 restaurants in the United States and around the world.
Moe's Southwest Grill specializes in offering made-to-order Southwest menu items, including fajitas, salads and burritos. According to the restaurant, food is freshly prepared in-store each day. The food at Moe's does not contain added hormones, MSG, steroids or preservatives, as of May 2015. In addition to traditional menu items, vegetarian and gluten-friendly options are also available.
In 2007, Moe's Southwest Grill became a part of FOCUS Brands Inc., the same company that franchises Carvel Ice Cream, Cinnabon Bakery, Auntie Anne's Pretzels and other eateries.
