When Did Hershey's Start Making Chocolate?

Milton Hershey, the founder of the Hershey's brand, first experimented with making chocolate as a coating for caramels in 1894. In 1900, the first actual Hershey's milk chocolate bar was produced and sold in America.

Hershey's has developed a variety of products since the first factory broke ground in 1903. In 1907, Hershey Kisses began to be produced then, shortly thereafter in 1908, the Hershey bar with almonds was launched. In 1925, Mr. Goodbar was introduced, and in 1926, the company started producing Hershey's Syrup. It wasn't until 1938 that another new product was developed, the Krackle bar. Then, in 1939, Hershey's started producing all its bars in miniature forms. Hershey's still produces all of those products as of 2015 as well as many more, including dark chocolate, Symphony, Cookies and Cream and caramel-filled chocolates.
