Some three-ingredient desserts are fresh strawberry pie, peanut butter cookies, flourless chocolate cake and zucchini brownies. To make fresh strawberry pie, heat 1/3 cup of apple jelly into a saucepan until it's runny, and then drizzle it over 9 cups of hulled ripe strawberries. Spoon the strawberries into a ready-made pie crust, and serve.
Make old-fashioned peanut butter cookies by beating together 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of peanut butter and 1 egg. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, and drop them on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Using fork tines, press the balls flat in both directions to create a crisscross pattern, and bake the cookies at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 minutes. Allow them to cool for a few minutes. Press a Hershey's kiss in the center of each cookie for a bit of chocolate.
To make a three-ingredient flourless chocolate cake, place 1 pound of chopped semisweet or dark chocolate in a bowl with 16 tablespoons of butter cut into pieces, and melt them in a microwave. Microwave the butter and chocolate for 30 seconds at a time, stirring between each 30-second session. Once a smooth, creamy mixture forms, fold in 8 beaten eggs 3 at a time until everything is just blended, and pour the batter into a greased and parchment-lined springform pan. Place the springform pan in a roasting pan filled with about 1 inch of boiling water, and bake the cake at 325 F for 22 to 25 minutes. Allow the cake to cool completely to room temperature, and then chill it before serving.
