A cheesy meat lasagna is made by combining lasagna noodles with meat, three types of cheese and sauce in a baking dish and baking it in a 375 degrees Fahrenheit oven for 30 minutes. The lasagna is baked covered until the last 10 minutes of baking.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a lasagna pan or baking dish with cooking spray, and set it aside. Cook 9 lasagna noodles according to the package directions and set aside.
In a skillet, brown 3/4 pound of ground beef with 3 cloves of minced garlic and 1 1/2 teaspoons of dried oregano. Drain the fat from the skillet, and add 1 24-ounce jar of spaghetti sauce. Allow the sauce to simmer for five minutes, then add 1 large chopped tomato.
In a bowl, mix together 1 egg, 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese and 1 16-ounce container of cottage cheese. Spread 1/2 cup of meat sauce into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Place 3 noodles into the baking dish, and top with half of the cottage cheese mixture, 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese and 1 cup of sauce. Repeat with a second layer of noodles, cheese and sauce. Top with the final three noodles and the remaining sauce.
Cover the lasagna with foil, and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the lasagna from the oven, discard the foil, and top with 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese. Return to the oven for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
