An informative speech presents information regarding a specific topic to an audience, in an effort to help them become more knowledgeable on the subject. When giving an informative speech, the speaker should be well-versed in the subject and able to answer detailed questions that arise.
There are four types of topics for informative speeches: objects, concepts, events and processes. Like most types of speeches, an informative speech should have an introduction, a body and a conclusion. While delivering an informative speech, an individual should be adequately prepared by doing thorough research on the topic. The speaker is expected to present both the advantages and disadvantages of the given topic and should not demonstrate bias on either side.
