What Are Some Creative Recipes for Baby Shower Foods?

Some creative recipes for baby shower foods include Martha Stewart's recipe for moon-shaped Goldilox tea sandwiches and Betty Crocker's recipe for baby rattle cupcakes. Both recipes add a cute twist to otherwise common food items.

To prepare the sandwiches, finely chop 1/2 cup of large pitted green olives. Measure out 1 1/2 tablespoons of brine-packed capers. Drain and rinse the capers before finely chopping them. Mix the olives and capers into 6 tablespoons of softened unsalted butter. Divide the butter mixture amongst 20 thin slices of white bread.

Set aside 10 slices of the buttered bread and distribute 4 ounces of smoked salmon amongst them. Cover with the remaining bread slices to form sandwiches. Use a moon-shaped cookie cutter to cut the sandwiches into moon shapes.

To make the cupcakes, bake 24 cupcakes according to the instructions on a store-bought box of cake mix and allow the cupcakes to cool. Decorate the cupcakes with store-bought vanilla frosting, icing and candy sprinkles. Adorn 24 paper lollipop sticks with ribbon bows and secure a gumdrop onto one end of each stick. Puncture the side of each cupcake with a toothpick before pushing the plain end of each lollipop stick into each cupcake to create the appearance of a rattle.
