Many recipes recommend setting the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to get tender, juicy pork chops. However, this temperature can vary based on a number of factors. As oven temperatures are not precise and often fluctuate, pinpointing the perfect temperature is nearly impossible.
Cooking times depend on the thickness of the chop. No matter the thickness, though, the internal temperature of the chop must reach 145 degrees Fahrenheit to be safe for consumption. The United States Department of Agriculture recommends that the meat be allowed to rest for at least three minutes after cooking, which should kill any harmful bacteria.
