The Olive Garden-style spaghetti sauce from SecretRecipes.Blogspot.com starts with 2 pounds of ground beef. Brown the in a pan until it is no longer pink, breaking it up with a fork or spoon.
Add 1 14-ounce can of stewed tomatoes, 6 ounces of V-8 juice and 1 16-ounce jar of Prego spaghetti sauce. Next, add one envelope of onion soup mix and 1/2 cup of grape jelly. Cook the ingredients, stirring frequently, for about 20 minutes. When the sauce is complete, the jelly is melted and the sauce os hot. This recipe makes six to eight servings of sauce.
The second copycat recipe is from Food.com. This recipe calls for 1 pound of ground beef, cooked in a pan and drained of excess oil. Next, add to the pan a 14-ounce can of stewed tomatoes, a 6-ounce can of V-8 vegetable juice and 1 jar of Ragu original sauce. Add 1/2 envelope of onion soup mix, 1/4 cup of jelly, 1/2 can of drained mushrooms and 1 finely chopped green pepper to the pot.
Cook the mixture over medium-high heat until it boils, then reduce the heat to a simmer and let it cook for 20 to 25 more minutes.
