To cook 1.5- to 2-inch steaks, such as rib eyes, in the Big Green Egg, make sure the temperature is around 650 degrees Fahrenheit, and cook the steaks for two to three minutes with the lid closed. After that, open the Egg and cook for another two to three minutes.
Allow the steaks to set for a couple of minutes before cutting so they finish cooking. To cook bone-in chicken on the Big Green Egg, make sure the temperature is at 300 degrees Fahrenheit, and then cook the chicken for five minutes on each side. Extinguish the flame, and then cook the chicken for another eight to 10 minutes until it is done.
