It is possible to cook snow crab legs by steaming, boiling, broiling, baking or grilling them. To microwave snow crab legs, wrap them in a damp paper towel, and cook them for three minutes.
The first step to cooking snow crab legs is to thaw them if they are frozen, by refrigerating them overnight or soaking them in cold water. To steam the thawed legs, place them in a steamer, cover the steam, and cook for up to eight minutes. Boil the legs by first bringing a pot of water to a boil, and adding seasoning as desired. Place the legs in the pot, reduce the heat, and simmer for six to eight minutes.
Both baking and broiling require using an oven as a heat source. Form a pocket out of foil, place the legs in the pocket, and roll up the top. Poke a steam hole in the foil, and bake the crab at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for eight to 10 minutes for thawed legs, and 15 to 16 minutes for frozen ones. For broiling, arrange the legs on a baking sheet, and place the sheet on an oven rack that is positioned 8 inches from the broiling coil. Cook the legs for six to eight minutes.
To grill crab legs, use a foil pocket without steam holes, and place the package on a grill heated to medium-high for up to 16 minutes.
