A simple way to cook frozen broccoli is to steam the vegetable. Cooked this way, the broccoli can be ready in as soon as 10 minutes.
Use the following steps to steam two packages, approximately 20 ounces, of frozen broccoli.
- Boil water
- Steam the broccoli
- Season the broccoli
Bring a pot of water to boil and place a steamer insert into the pot.
Place the broccoli spears into the steamer basket and cover the pot with a lid.
Steam the broccoli for up to 5 minutes until crisp yet tender. Remove the broccoli spears to a bowl and season with salt, ground black pepper, a small amount of olive oil and lemon juice.
