Broccoli rabe should be cleaned in a bowl or sink filled with cold water after they have been trimmed and peeled. For storage, broccoli rabeshould be kept in a plastic bag and refrigerated for no more than 5 days.
With a paring knife and bowl or sink filled with coldwater, follow the steps belowto prepare and clean broccoli rabe.
Cut the base of the stems off to make peeling easier.
Make little cuts around the base of the stems and peel the skin back from them. Dispose of these as well as the outer leaves that peel off with them.
Place the broccoli rabe in the bowl or sink and move them around to clean. When all dirt has settled to the bottom, remove the broccoli rabe and drain.
