Prepare ground turkey and hominy by cooking 1-1/2 ground turkey in olive oil with a large chopped onion. Once it is no longer pink, add a teaspoon of minced garlic and cook for another minute. Add two 14.5-ounce cans of diced tomatoes with juice to the pan along with a teaspoon of salt, 1 1/2 teaspoons cumin, 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard, 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme and 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Also add 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, and heat to a simmer. Drain and rinse two 15.5-ounce cans of hominy, add them to the casserole, and continue heating to warm it.
For ground turkey spaghetti pie, line a 7-inch pie pan with cooked spaghetti mixed with an egg and 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese to form a crust, and spread 3 tablespoons of sour cream across the top. Cook 1/2 pound ground turkey, 1/4 cup of chopped bell pepper, 2 tablespoons of chopped onion, salt and pepper. Mix in 1/3 cup tomato sauce and 1/4 teaspoon each of oregano and garlic salt. Place the mixture in the crust, and top with 1/3 cup of mozzarella cheese. Bake the casserole in a 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese melts.Learn more about Cooking
