Caribbean people are known to eat a lot of seafood because they live on an island. Their cuisine is a mixture of Indian, Spanish, British and French food.
Jerk, a spicy rub added to chicken or pork, is one of the main dishes for which Caribbean people are known. The meat is marinated and then smoked or grilled. The name comes from the movement made will grilling the meat. Plantains, chickpeas, okra and sweet potatoes are staples in many of their dishes. Goat stew has become known as the national dish of Montserrat. Much of what the Caribbean people eat depends on what region they are in.
