Food Network and AllRecipes.com both provide recipes for vegetarian black bean burgers. Both recipes require under 35 minutes of preparation and cooking time but use some different ingredients.
Food Network's recipe includes 1/2 a chopped yellow onion, 1 tablespoon of chopped garlic, 2 cans of rinsed and drained black beans, 2 tablespoons of chopped cilantro leaves, 2 teaspoons of chopped parsley leaves, 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes, 1/2 cup of bread crumbs, and salt and pepper. Use an egg to bind the ingredients and make the burgers.
AllRecipes.com uses similar ingredients but different spices, including chili powder, cumin and hot sauce. Use a food processor or blender or simply mash the beans with your hands after draining and rinsing them. Combine all the ingredients and form patties. The patties can be grilled, fried or baked, but AllRecipes.com suggests using foil to grill the patties.
