Cannoli is a dessert consisting of a tube-shaped pastry shell that is filled with a sweetened ricotta cheese. Chocolate, nuts, candied fruits, or candied orange peels can be added to the filling before it is piped into the pastry shells. Cannoli Napoleon varies in shape from the more traditional form of the dessert. It makes use of round pastry shells that are topped with the sweetened ricotta and stacked.
