A person can eat orange seeds in very small amounts. Orange seeds, just like apple seeds, contain a small amount of toxins.
When consumed in large amounts, this toxin, known as cyanide, can be harmful to the health. Most people decide not to consume the seeds at all, but others keep them intact when using oranges in their smoothies. This same toxin is found in tangerines, grapefruits, lemons and lines. Tangerine seeds are more bitter tasting than the other types. Stone pit seeds, such as those found in apricots and cherries, should never be consumed as they contain large amounts of toxins.
