Can Mustard Be Used to Treat Minor Burns?

While there is no substantial proof as of 2014, many people claim they have experienced quick pain relief when using yellow mustard to treat minor kitchen burns, says Mustard Museum. First use cool water on the injury, and then apply cold mustard to achieve better relief, recommends People Pharmacy.

Mustard has other health benefits, including relieving muscle pain, controlling symptoms of asthma and fighting against gastrointestinal cancer, reports the Health Site. According to the Huffington Post, there are several other food products that are believed to help treat minor kitchen burns, including honey, butter, tomato slices, fresh onion juice, tea bags, soy sauce, vinegar and egg whites.
