Concoct a homemade coffee liquor similar to Baileys Irish Cream by combining cream, Irish whiskey, chocolate syrup, coffee, vanilla extract and condensed milk. Many recipes differ in terms of the ratio of cream to Irish whiskey, while others add more or less extracts and syrup.
A popular original Irish cream recipe calls for 1 cup of heavy cream, one 14-ounce can of sweetened condensed milk, 1 2/3 cups of Irish whiskey, 1 teaspoon of instant coffee granules, 2 tablespoons of chocolate syrup, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1 teaspoon of almond extract. Combine these ingredients in a blender on the highest setting for 20 to 30 seconds, depending on the model of blender. Pour this mixture into an airtight container in the refrigerator, preferably one with a pouring spout.
Keep the coffee liquor in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours to allow it to mix and cool thoroughly. Shake the container prior to serving to ensure the ingredients do not separate and the consistency is smooth and creamy. This recipe makes around four servings of Irish cream, depending on the types of drinks made. Some popular drink recipes for Irish Cream include the White Russian, Mudslide and Chocolatini.
