One easy coleslaw recipe that uses mayonnaise is available on the Food Network website, as of 2015. This recipe calls for 6 cups of shredded cabbage, 1 cup of mayonnaise, 1 cup of shredded carrots, 1/4 cup of white wine vinegar and 1 teaspoon of celery seed. Remaining ingredients are 1/4 cup of sugar, salt and pepper. The preparer combines the cabbage and carrots in a large bowl.
In the meantime, the preparer makes the dressing in another bowl by mixing the mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper and celery seed. This dressing adds to the cabbage and carrot mix, which is then chilled before serving.
Another recipe is from Martha Stewart. This recipe calls for 8 ounces of pre-packaged coleslaw mix, 1/2 cup of light mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon of cider vinegar, 1/4 teaspoon of celery seed, and coarse salt and ground black pepper. The preparer tosses all of the ingredients, save the salt and pepper, in a bowl, adds the salt and pepper, tosses again and serves.
