A recipe for crab-stuffed shrimp is on Food Network and courtesy of Paula Deen. The recipe consists of butter, green onions, a green bell pepper, garlic powder, heavy cream, Dijon mustard, saltine cracker crumbs, mayonnaise, an egg, fresh parsley, a lemon, crab meat, shrimp and 12 slices of bacon.
Start by melting 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet, and add three finely chopped green onions, 1/2 cup of finely chopped green bell peppers and 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder. Saute until the peppers are soft. Remove the vegetable mixture from the heat, and place it in a mixing bowl. Add 4 1/2 teaspoons of heavy cream,1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard and a dash of cayenne pepper to the vegetables, and combine.
Next, add 1/2 cup of saltine cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup of mayonnaise, one egg, 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley leaves and the juice of half a lemon. Continue to mix well. Gently add 1 pound of crab meat, and form the mixture into pieces small enough to stuff into the shrimp. Set these aside.
Take 1 pound of jumbo shrimp, and split each one down the bottom center to tail. Next, stuff the shrimp with the crab meat mixture. Lastly, wrap the shrimp in bacon, secure each with a toothpick, and place them on a pan. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
