Several large retailers and grocery stores sell quinoa, including Walmart, Amazon.com and health food stores, as of 2015. Customers can also purchase quinoa from specialty retail stores, including Nuts.com and Puritan.com.
Many retailers offer quinoa for sale in bulk, with price points for purchasing more of the seed. While it is technically a seed, quinoa has the texture and consistency of a grain. It is high in protein and contains all nine essential amino acids. A serving of quinoa also contains about 20 percent of the recommended daily dietary fiber intake and phosphorus, magnesium and iron. Some varieties of quinoa include red, dark chocolate and royal white.
