Jiffy Pop butter flavored popcorn can be purchased from Walmart Canada and Amazon Canada, as of 2015. Jiffy Pop popcorn is a brand sold by ConAgra Foods since 2000. It is different from microwavable popcorn because the kernels, oil and flavoring are packaged in a stove-top aluminum popping pan.
Chemist Frederick C. Mennen from Indiana developed Jiffy Pop in 1958. American Home Products bought the product from Mennen and made it popular in the American market. A patent infringement case was filed in 1960 by Taylor-Reed Corporation against Mennen for copying its E-Z Pop, an earlier product similar to Jiffy Pop, however Mennen was cleared.
